Boise is the capital city of Idaho and sits in the heart of the Boise metropolitan area. The downtown area is rich in activity and culture with the Boise River and famous green belt running near the center of Boise, only a few blocks from the capital building. Eagle, ID is recognized as the higher end community in Boise Valley and the average home values prove it. Many have coined the term ‘rurban’ to describe the city but it is really a thriving business community, uncrowded and still a small town.
Not long ago, Eagle was a town that was centered around Old State street and downtown Eagle, notably the Orville Jackson store. Today there is a thriving business district along the Boise River at Eagle Rd & State Street. Here you find a hospital, retail stores, restaurants, banking, corporate headquarters and even the Eagle Pavillion which hosts concerts in the summer.

Meridian is a high-desert (elevation: 2,605 feet) suburb just west of Boise. The average high temperature is 64 degrees; the average low is 41 degrees. Average yearly rainfall is only 10 inches a year, and snowfall 12 inches. Air quality is good. The area has a high rank on the Milken Institute list of best cities for aging, although doctors per capita are below the national average. The economy is good.

Star, ID is a small town located about 20 miles west of Boise. The city has a reputation for it’s rural character and is community oriented with an active Parks and Recreation program. It is best know for Mule days in June but it is also has a reputation for being quieter and having a slower pace. The Boise River runs just south of town with foothills just to the north.
